Technology
Goodman’s SmartShift® technology helps reduce the disruptive sounds commonly associated with heat-pump defrost cycles.
When defrost is needed, SmartShift briefly delays the compressor before the reversing valve changes position. This allows system pressures to equalize, creating a smoother, quieter transition before the compressor restarts and clears ice from the outdoor coil.
